The Ageas Bowl, formerly the Rose Bowl and presently known for commercial reasons as the Ageas Bowl, is a cricket ground and hotel complex in West End, Hampshire. Since 2001, Hampshire County Cricket Club has played there.
It was built as a replacement for the County Ground in Southampton and the United Services Recreation Ground in Portsmouth, which had served Hampshire since 1882. Hampshire played their first ever first-class match at the ground, against Worcestershire on May 9–11, 2001, with Hampshire winning by 124 runs. After hosting numerous international cricket matches, including One Day Internationals in the 2004 Champions Trophy, two Twenty20 Internationals in 2005 and 2009, and Test matches in 2011, 2014, and 2018 when England hosted Sri Lanka and India at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the ground has seen expanded use. In 2020, it was one of two biosecure sites used for the West Indies vs Pakistan tour as well as an Ireland vs Pakistan match regulated due to COVID-19 pandemic concerns.

History
The third of Thomas Lord’s grounds was constructed in 1814 and became the main cricket venue after cricket overtook the world in the 19th century. While other international events have usurped cricket’s position, Lord’s has retained its status as a spiritual home since then.
