Sydney Parade (Dublin) – Pitch Report

Sydney Parade is a historic cricket ground located in Dublin, Ireland, renowned for its rich sporting legacy. The earliest recorded match at the ground dates back to 1897, when Pembroke faced Leicester Ivanhoe.

The ground gained prominence in 1965 by hosting a first-class match between Ireland and Scotland, where Scotland secured a commanding victory by an innings and 22 runs.

Sydney Parade has also played a significant role in women’s cricket. In 1995, it hosted its first Women’s One Day International (WODI) between Ireland and the Netherlands. Subsequent WODIs followed in 1996, 1997, and 2000, with Ireland taking on New Zealand, South Africa, and Pakistan, respectively.

Currently, Sydney Parade serves as the home ground for the Pembroke Cricket Club and the Monkstown FC rugby union team, cementing its place as a cornerstone of Dublin’s sporting community.
