Carrara Stadium, also known as People First Stadium under naming rights, is a multi-purpose venue located in the suburb of Carrara on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It primarily serves as the home ground of the Gold Coast Suns, who compete in the Australian Football League (AFL), and occasionally hosts cricket matches, including the Big Bash League. Originally redeveloped in 1987 for the Brisbane Bears’ entry into the VFL/AFL, the stadium transitioned to hosting various sports such as rugby league, rugby union, and baseball after the Bears moved to the Gabba in 1993. Notably, it was the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies and athletics events during the 2018 Commonwealth Games. If cricket is approved by the International Olympic Committee, the stadium is slated to host cricket matches for the 2032 Summer Olympics.
