Is Gaddafi Batting Or Bowling Pitch?

When it comes to bowling on a bowler-friendly pitch, the batsmen must return to the pavilion in each ball; whereas, a batting surface may prevent a bowler from sustaining his/her spell. A fantastic pitch is one where both batsman and bowler are treated equally, and this sort of pitches make for an exciting game.

History

The Gaddafi Stadium, named for the Libyan leader, is located in the ancient city of Lahore and was completely rebuilt for the 1996 World Cup. The new stadium, designed by renowned architect Nayyar Ali Dada after the Mughal School of red hand-laid brickwork and arched construction, has plastic seats rather than concrete benches. The grassy field area beneath the stands has been enclosed and rebranded as boutiques and office spaces. This was Pakistan’s first stadium to feature modern floodlights, which have their own standby power generators. Modern newsroom facilities are also provided.
