Mainpower Oval (Rangiora Recreation Ground) New Zealand – Pitch Report

Rangiora Recreation Ground, also known as the MainPower Oval owing to a sponsorship agreement with local firm MainPower, is a cricket ground in Rangiora, Canterbury, New Zealand.

Cricket has been played on the ground since the 19th century. Canterbury, who were then known as Otago, hosted Central Districts in the 2003/04 State Championship, and it first held a first-class match. Since Lancaster Park was irreparable damaged by the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, Canterbury have played many of their first-class home matches at Rangiora. Canterbury’s first List A match occurred there in the 2003/04 State Shield, when they faced Auckland; eight List A games were held there in the 2011-12 Ford Trophy, as well as a handful of Twenty20 games.
