Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium is an athletic facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, that was named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Sports Club of Gujarat Stadium is another name for it. In 1948, the stadium witnessed India’s first One Day International match against England. After a new stadium with the same name was constructed at Motera in 1982, the Sardar (Vallabhbhai) Patel stadium lost its status as an international cricket venue. The stadium is one of the home grounds of the Gujarat cricket team, who compete in the Ranji Trophy domestic competition. It is lit by floodlights for day-and-night matches and hosts numerous games during the Indian domestic cricket season.

The Sardar Patel Stadium, which is controlled by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, is located in the city’s center. It has been used for cricket games, but it has also hosted events organized by the Gujarat government.
