The VRA Cricket Ground, situated in Amstelveen, Netherlands, has been the home of VRA Amsterdam since 1939. It is a prominent venue for Dutch cricket, regularly hosting the Netherlands’ matches in tournaments like the World Cricket League, Intercontinental Cup, and CB40. The ground hosted its first international match in 1978, when the Netherlands played against New Zealand. Since then, it has been the stage for several notable ODIs, including a match during the 1999 Cricket World Cup and the 2004 Videocon Cup featuring India, Pakistan, and Australia. Additionally, it was one of the venues for the 1990 ICC Trophy, the first edition held outside of England. Among its historic moments, the VRA Cricket Ground witnessed a dramatic three-run victory for the Netherlands over an England XI in 1989, featuring future England captains Alec Stewart and Nasser Hussain. In 2006, the ground saw Sri Lanka post a then-record ODI total of 443/9 against the Netherlands in their first home ODI.Nestled within the Amsterdamse Bos, the facility includes a AAA-standard turf wicket on the main ground. The second and third grounds, equipped with artificial wickets, are also used during the winter by the Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club, making it a versatile sports venue.
