Clifton Park Ground, located in York, North Yorkshire, is a notable cricket venue with a rich history. The first recorded match at the ground took place in 1971, when the Yorkshire Second XI faced the Lancashire Second XI in the Minor Counties Championship. The ground hosted its second and final Minor Counties Championship match the following year, with Yorkshire Second XI playing against Cumberland.
Since 1984, Clifton Park has been a regular venue for Yorkshire Second XI matches in the Second XI Championship, having hosted 20 matches to date, along with 8 Second XI Trophy matches.
In 1973, the ground also made history by hosting a Women’s One Day International between Australia women and Jamaica women during the 1973 Women’s Cricket World Cup.
In addition to its role in regional and international cricket, Clifton Park serves as the home ground for York Cricket Club, which competes in the Yorkshire Premier League North.
