Shaw Park, located on the island of Tobago by the ocean, began its development as a cricket venue in 1958 with the construction of a pavilion. The park hosted its first major match in the 1983–84 Geddes Grant/Harrison Line Trophy, with Trinidad and Tobago playing Jamaica in a List A one-day match. Over the next two years, it also hosted two more one-day matches involving Trinidad.
After a 16-year hiatus, Shaw Park was used again for first-class cricket in 2001-02 when Trinidad and Tobago faced Bangladesh A in the Busta Cup. The venue hosted further first-class matches in 2004, 2005, and 2006, featuring teams like Kenya, Jamaica, and the Windward Islands. Although a 2008 match between West Indies A and Sri Lanka was cancelled due to flight issues, Shaw Park continued to host one-day matches, including in the 2006–07 KFC Cup and the 2013–16 Regional Super50 tournaments. It remains a significant cricket ground in Tobago.
