Adelaide Oval is a sports ground located in the parklands between the city centre and North Adelaide, South Australia. The venue is primarily used for cricket and Australian rules football, but it has also hosted rugby league, rugby union, soccer, tennis, and other sports. It has also been used to host concerts on a regular basis. The Adelaide Oval is one of Australia’s most beautiful Test cricket grounds, if not the world. After the recent improvement of the ground was completed in 2014, sports journalist Gerard Whateley called it “the most perfect piece of modern architecture because it combines all of the character that has been lost over time.
