Iqbal Stadium, located in Faisalabad, Pakistan, is a prominent Test cricket ground with a seating capacity of 18,000. Previously known as Lyallpur Stadium, National Stadium, and City Stadium, it has hosted 25 Test matches and 14 One Day Internationals, with 14 of the Test matches ending in draws. The stadium was named after Pakistan’s national poet, Muhammad Iqbal, and was officially opened in October 1978. In September 2019, the Pakistan Cricket Board selected it as one of the venues for the 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Furthermore, it was announced in August 2024 that Iqbal Stadium would host all matches of the 2024–25 Champions One-Day Cup. There are also ongoing speculations about it potentially hosting the upcoming Pakistan Super League edition, as well as a Test match in the three-match series against England’s cricket team in October 2024.
