Queen’s Park is a county cricket ground in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, and it is located within Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee Park, which was created for the queen’s 60th birthday in 1887. It has a tiny pavilion surrounded by mature trees and is encircled by parkland.

Chesterfield Cricket Ground, formerly Chesterfield CC and Derbyshire CCC from 1898 until 1998 before returning in 2006 after an 8-year absence, is the home of Chesterfield Cricket Club. It was once surrounded by a banked cycle track. It’s a small ground that takes time to dry after rain, making it suitable for batting on good wickets. The size of the facility lends itself to fast scoring on good wickets because it is so tiny.

Is Queen's Park, Chesterfield Stadium Batting Or Bowling Pitch?

Chesterfield is home to several of Derbyshire’s county matches. It’s a little ground with a slow drying process after rain, making it ideal for producing a green wicket. The size of the facility, on the other hand, encourages fast scoring on good wickets.

History

Chesterfield Cricket Club plays at Chesterfield Queens Park, which is set within a park created for Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee in 1897 and is an appealing backdrop for cricket with a bandstand, a tiny pavillion, and trees that surround it. It was once encircled by a banked cycling path. The magnificent twisted 238-foot tall spire of All Saints Church overlooks the ground. Chesterfield CC is located there.

Chesterfield is home to a number of Derbyshire’s county games. It is a tiny stadium that takes time to dry after rain, making it prone to becoming green. The size of the ground, on the other hand, encourages quick scoring on good wickets. It was at Chesterfield that Brown (300) and Tunnicliffe set the mark for England against Yorkshire with 554 for the first wicket, which stood for many years before being broken by Sutcliffe and Holmes. The fourth wicket fell just two runs short of Sanders’s opening score (213) in the first instance, when Perrin scored 346 with three sixes and ten fours for Essex against Lancashire at Leyton Cricket Ground in 1904. A record 14,000 spectators attended the game between Yorkshire and Lancashire in 1948.
