History

Cricket was first played on a ground in the village of Newberry called Newberries, before moving to Porters Park, now the Shenley Park Cricket Centre, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-east of the current site. This area became part of the grounds of Shenley Hospital and was required by the institution forcing the club to relocate in 1937. Miles Brunton, after whom the current ground is named, bought it and leased it to the club for 99 years.

Following the establishment of their home ground in 1938, the cricket pavilion on the ground was constructed and cost £100 to construct.
