The St Lawrence Ground, located in Canterbury, Kent, is the home of Kent County Cricket Club. Since 2013, it has been known as The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, due to commercial sponsorship. One of the oldest cricket grounds in use for first-class cricket, it has been a fixture of the sport since 1847 and hosts Canterbury Cricket Week, the world’s oldest cricket festival. Unique for having a tree, the St Lawrence Lime, within its boundary, it is one of only two grounds to feature such an iconic feature. The ground’s capacity was expanded to 15,000 in 2000, and it has hosted four One Day International matches, including games during the 1999 Cricket World Cup, as well as in 2000, 2003, and 2005. Notably, the ground was also the site of the first day/night County Championship match, which took place as a trial in September 2011.
