County Ground (Derby) – Pitch Report

The County Cricket Ground, often referred to as the Racecourse Ground and currently known as the Incora County Ground due to sponsorship, is located in Derby, England. Serving as the home of Derbyshire County Cricket Club since 1871, this historic ground was first used in 1863 by South Derbyshire Cricket Club. Originally part of Derby Racecourse, racing activities ceased here in 1939. Over the years, the ground has hosted significant events, including two One-Day Internationals: New Zealand vs. Sri Lanka during the 1983 ICC Cricket World Cup and New Zealand vs. Pakistan in the 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup. It was also a venue for the 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, where one of the semi-finals took place.

In addition to cricket, the ground has a rich football history. From 1884 to 1895, it served as the home of Derby County F.C., hosting memorable moments such as the first-ever FA Cup Final match outside London, a replay of the 1886 final, and an international fixture between England and Ireland in 1895.
