The County Ground, currently known as the Cooper Associates County Ground due to sponsorship, is a prominent cricket venue located in Taunton, Somerset. It has been the home of Somerset County Cricket Club since 1882. Situated between Priory Bridge Road and St James Street, the ground has a seating capacity of 8,500. Originally constructed in 1881 as part of a sports complex by Taunton Athletic Club, it soon became the home of Somerset’s previously itinerant cricket team. After leasing the ground for ten years, the club purchased it in 1896, thanks to the efforts of club secretary Henry Murray-Anderdon. The ground features two main ends: the River End to the north and the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion End to the south.
